North Sydney

So much more than a photo opportunity

Ferries bustle back and forth from Sydney to the north shore and cameras go into overdrive when tourists look back at the magnificent vista that is Sydney Harbour with it’s stunning Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Circular Quay. But North Sydney is so much more than a photo opportunity. North Sydney is the resting place for Australia’s only Saint - St. Mary MacKillop. Just a short walk from North Sydney Railway Station is the chapel that holds the Saint’s tomb. It is a welcoming, gentle place that is hard to walk away from, regardless of your faith, without feeling somehow cleansed. North Sydney has days and even weeks of experiences if you have the time. But if you only have time for a whistle stop, make sure you visit Luna Park and walk along the foreshore to take in the views!
