Captain Cook’s landing

European settlement of the Colony dates back to this very spot. Botany Bay and the monuments that commemorate the landing of Captain Cook’s Endeavour, the First Fleet, Joseph Banks, Solander and Forby Sutherland are fasinating and very definitely worth a visit. Descriptions of the early interaction between Europeans and Australia’s indigenous people are presented in an easy to understand and informative display at the National Park’s Centre.
